Band
Rock ’n’ roll, catchy melodies, raw primal energy and 24/7 party vibe. The compelling feeling to tap your feet turning into an uncontrollable urge to jump up and down and party all night long. You are getting very close to the essence of 51/50s. As the band’s motto goes: ”sanity is vanity”.
The Story
After experiencing the ugly side of the society while living homeless on the streets of London, Rikki Lee drained inspiration from the experience and rounded up three exceptional musicians – Jason Gale, Billy Baker and Ollie Cook – to form a band that would be later known as 51/50s.
The band got quickly a financing deal through Slicethepie and broke into the rock scene in 2007 with their debut single, Bring It On, reaching radio airwaves and success on HMV’s download charts.
The band’s debut album, Dangerous State Of Mind, layers Rikki Lee’s raw vocals with arena ready power chords to churn out a record full of straight-shooting rock ‘n’ roll for a new generation of rock fans. With standout tracks like “Lies” and “Hypnotised” the music of 51/50s appeals to rock fans and non-rock fans alike.
